First of all it is very particular: it is the Pavilion of the host Country so it could not be so.

The Italian Pavilion is not represented only by Palazzo Italia, everything that lies along the Cardo (the shortest axis of Expo, which crosses the Decumano) it is a part of the Italy Pavilion.

Not only the Pavilion but also all the spaces dedicated to regional realities which means our biodiversity; the Tree of Life and Piazza Italia (Italy Square), the meeting point between Cardo and Decumano.

It is the largest Exhibition Pavilion and it seems the crown of a large tree, with dense web of interlinked branches which creates areas of light and shadow … But let’s go into this great hair …

Four floors, four themes …

“The power of know-how”: here you know men and women from each region who have distinguished themselves in the field of production, they will tell you their stories and their “know-how” …

Let’s go upstairs and the path becomes more serious; we may have to reflect on what happens if one does not take care about the nature, going ahead and we enter into the “distress chamber”: the room of daily stress, with that annoying noise that we hear every day and that makes us so tired…

But after that..

The “Power of Beauty”…

A kaleidoscopic experience…

Can you imagine Europe without Italy?

Going ahead and you will discover the “Power of Limit” closely related to the “Power of Future”: it might seems a contradiction, but it is here that are explained some of the best projects which are being developed in Italy in environments or situations that seem complicated: for this reason they are a stimulus to solve the problems.

How to grow tomatoes in weightlessness? Can you imagine cultivating mushrooms with the coffee grounds?

Finally, in the last room of Palazzo Italia you will see a special Garden: it has the classic shape of the “Italian boot” and each pot is in the place that corresponds to the region of provenance. Twenty-one plants, selected from regions to represent them, grown in that soil: the symbol of our region’s biodiversity.
